Operating Instructions for Software to Update the Internal Program of Applicable SIGMA fp's (For Users)

Before Updating
- If the camera battery runs out during the internal program update, it might affect the operation of the camera. In order to avoid this, please read the following instructions carefully before updating the internal program.
- Use a dedicated AC adapter or a fully charged battery.
- Do not open the battery/card cover or try to operate the camera during the internal program update.
Do not turn off the camera during the internal program update.
System Requirements
CPU: Processor equivalent to Intel Core i series
OS: 64-bit version Windows 10 (ver. 21H2 or later), Windows 11
RAM: 4GB or more (8GB or more recommended)
HDD: Hard disk with 5GB or more free space (10GB or more recommended)
STEP 01
Click the download button or press the right mouse button (right-click) to download the file.
STEP 02
Double-click the "SettingUpdater_setup.exe" file that has been downloaded to your computer to run the program.
* Until this point, your camera should not be connected to the computer.
STEP 03
Turn on the camera and press the MENU button on the back of the camera to open the setup menu, then turn the front or rear dial to move to the SYSTEM menu (yellow tab).
Select "SYSTEM (4)" → "USB Mode" → "Mass Storage" in the setup menu and press the OK button.
* If "SYSTEM" → "USB Mode" is set to "Select when connecting" (default setting), the USB mode selection screen will appear when you connect the camera to the PC. If this happens, please select "Mass Storage" and press the OK button.
STEP 04
Connect the camera to your computer using the USB cable that came with the camera.
STEP 05
Check that "Now Connecting..." is displayed on the camera's LCD monitor, return to the PC screen, and click OK on the dialog box that says "Please power on the camera and connect the USB cable from the PC to the camera's USB port".
STEP 06
If the dialog box that appears afterward displays "Current Camera Mode Data is : 0", there is no need to reprogram the camera.
If the message "Current Camera Mode Data is: 1" is displayed, you will need to re-write the program.
If the message "Current Camera Mode Data is : 0" is displayed
When you click OK, the message "The Camera is already in the desired mode. No action was needed." will be displayed in the dialog box, so click OK again.
When you see the message "Finished Setting. Please power off the camera by switching it to the OFF position.", click OK and proceed to STEP 07.
If the message "Current Camera Mode Data is: 1" is displayed
Click OK and the Camera Mode will be re-written. Then "Latest mode has been successfully set on the camera." will be displayed on the PC. After this message appears, click OK.
Confirm the message "Finished Setting. Please power off the camera by switching it to the OFF position." is displayed and click OK to proceed to STEP07.
STEP 07
Turn the power off, disconnect the USB cable, and replace the USB cover.
STEP 08
Turn the camera's power ON again. Select "SYSTEM (5)" → "Reset Settings" → "Reset All" from the setup menu and press the OK button.
STEP 09
After the camera automatically restarts, check that the "Language" menu is displayed.
STEP 10
Turn the camera power off and remove the battery.
The update is now complete.
