Operating Instructions for Software to Update the Internal Program of Applicable SIGMA fp's (For Users)

Macintosh Version

Before Updating

  • If the camera is turned off while the internal program is being changed, it will not turn on again and you will not be able to take pictures, so please read the following notes carefully before changing the internal program.
  • Please use a fully charged dedicated battery or AC adapter to power the camera.
  • Do not open the battery/card cover or operate any buttons, dials or switches while updating the software.
    Do not turn the camera off while the software is being updated.

System Requirements

CPU: Intel Core i series processor or equivalent, Apple M series chip
OS: macOS Ventura 13, macOS Sonoma 14, macOS Sequoia 15
RAM: 4GB or more (8GB or more recommended)
HDD: Hard disk with at least 5GB of free space (10GB or more recommended)

STEP 01

Click the download button or right-click the mouse to download.

STEP 02

Double-click the "SettingUpdater.dmg" file you downloaded to your computer to extract the contents of the disk image.

* Do not connect the camera to your computer at this time.

STEP 03

Copy "SettingUpdater.app" and "SettingUpdater_Start.command" to the desktop using the alias to 'Desktop' in the disk image.

STEP 04

Double-click 'SettingUpdater_Start.command'. The terminal will start up and ask for the user's password, so enter the password. (Administrator privileges are required)
SettingUpdater.app will start up.

STEP 05

Turn on the camera and press the MENU button on the back of the camera to open the setup menu, then turn the dial to move to the SYSTEM (camera settings) (yellow tab) menu. Select "SYSTEM (4)" → "USB Mode" → "Mass Storage" in the setup menu and press the OK button.

* If "SYSTEM" → "USB Mode" is set to "Select When Connecting" (default setting), the USB mode selection screen will be displayed when the camera is connected to the computer. Please select "Mass Storage".

STEP 06

Connect the camera to your computer using the USB cable that came with the camera.

STEP 07

Check that "USB cable connected..." is displayed on the camera's LCD monitor, and then return to the PC screen and press the Update button in the "SettingUpdater.app" window. If successful, the message "The settings have been completed. Turn off the camera." will be displayed.

STEP 08

Turn off the power, unplug the USB cable, and replace the USB cover.

STEP 09

After turning the power back on, select "SYSTEM (5)" in the setup menu, then "Reset Settings" and "Reset All", and press the OK button.

STEP 10

After it restarts automatically, please check that "Language" is displayed.

STEP 11

After checking that "Language" is displayed, turn the power off and remove the battery. The internal program has been changed.

STEP 12

Please delete the "SettingUpdater.app" and "SettingUpdater_Start.command" files that you copied to your desktop.
