No, you cannot use the electronic and optical stabilization at the same time on the fp series.
-
What makes Foveon sensors different from other regular sensors?
Unlike regular sensors that capture information of just one color per pixel, the SIGMA sensors are revolutionary full-color image sensors that are capable of capturing full-color information with a three-layer structure. This removes the necessity for color interpolation, and makes images in principle free of color artifacts, which means that there is no need for a low-pass filter. Foveon sensors can capture all the light and color information, creating high-resolution three-dimensional images that look very realistic.

-
What is the HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) motor?
HLA is SIGMA's proprietary linear autofocus motor. It drives the focus lens directly without going through gears or other mechanical parts, resulting in quiet, fast and extremely precise autofocusing.
-
How suitable is the SIGMA 14mm F1.4 DG DN | Art for video recording, especially in regard to focus breathing?
Focus breathing will occur, but it is kept to a relatively small amount.
-
Is it possible to attach the sheet-type filter for the SIGMA 14mm F1.4 DG DN | Art to the SIGMA 14mm F1.8 DG HSM | Art for DSLR cameras?
No. The SIGMA 14mm F1.4 DG DN | Art has a different shaped filter holder than the SIGMA 14mm F1.8 DG HSM | Art (FHR-11 for Canon EF mount). The sheet filter cannot be shared.
-
Is SIGMA's Mount Conversion Service available for SIGMA lenses with other mounts to be changed to fit for Nikon Z mount?
There are currently no plans for the service to be available for lenses for Nikon Z mount.
-
What direction does the focus ring turn on the SIGMA DN Lens ?
For Sony E-mount, L-Mount, Canon EF-M mount, and Micro Four Thirds mount :
the focus shifts clockwise to near distance and counterclockwise to far distance.
For FUJIFILM X Mount and Nikon Z mount :
the focus turns counterclockwise for short distances and clockwise for long distances. -
Why does the SIGMA 50mm F1.4 DG DN | Art make a sound when the lens is shaken?
The focusing lens group of SIGMA lenses equipped with the HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) motor is not fixed in position when the power to the lens is off, which means the lens may make a sound when shaken along the optical axis. This is completely normal.
-
Even if I lock the MFL switch the focus moves.
When the MFL switch is set to the LOCK position, the focus ring operation is disabled, but AF operation is possible. So please check if the setting is set to AF.
Also, even with the MF setting, there are some camera bodies that temporarily operate AF by operating the AF-ON button, so please check the camera body settings. -
When set to linear focus, it is no longer possible to focus finely.
Focusing accuracy may decrease when the rotation angle is small. If there is a problem with accuracy, set a larger angle of rotation (a large focus throw) or set to non-linear focusing.
-
My lens supports linear focus, but the menu is not displayed.
Update the lens firmware to the latest version and the menu will be displayed.
-
Can the I series' metal cap be used with a filter attached?

-
Does the Mount Conversion Service incur a fee?
Yes, a fee is required for the Mount Conversion Service. For more information, please contact your nearest SIGMA representative directly.
-
Why are the PL mounts not covered by the Mount conversion service?
The internal mechanism of the SIGMA PL mount cine lenses are very different from EF mount and E mount. Therefore to change the mount, we need to dismantle the whole lens. To guarantee the performance of the lens once dismantled, it requires the same exclusive equipment as building a lens from scratch.
Considering the delivery date and cost, we have not covered PL mount for the mount conversion service. -
Are all of the cine lenses you plan to launch come in the same size?
The lenses we have currently launched all have the same front diameter, but their lengths are all different. All of the lenses have the same gear diameter and positions as well. Respective numbers for future lenses are still to be determined.
-
Does the camera upload and record meta data from the SIGMA cine lenses?
The lens mount establishes an electronic connection with the camera, allowing lens data to be transmitted (focal length, shooting distance, aperture, etc.). The data that is recorded varies by camera.
Note: This feature is not included on PL mount lenses that are not compatible with i/ Technology.
