Operating conditions of the SIGMA 35mm F1.2 DG DN | Art for SONY E-mount with the SONY α7RIII / α7R IV

We would like to share results of our investigation regarding the operation of the SIGMA 35mm F1.2 DG DN | Art, when used on the SONY α7RIII / α7R IV.

SIGMA 35mm F1.2 DG DN | Art for SONY E-mount

[Confirmed phenomenon]
The focus may not work on α7R III / α7R IV depending on the shooting distance when the focus mode is set to ‘AF-C’ with an aperture value of F1.2.

We are planning a firmware update to address this issue, which will be announced in due course.

Note:
This phenomenon does not occur in the following conditions.
・When used on cameras other than Sony α7R III / α7R IV
・When shooting movies

We apologize for any inconvenience caused to customers using this product combination. Please avoid using focus mode “AF-C” when aperture value F1.2 is selected until the firmware update is released.
