Sony E-mount lenses
―from the ultra-high performing Art line.
With the unbeatable expressive performance and the complete lineup of ten lenses from 14mm to 135mm, full size SONY E-mount lenses are added as members of the Art line.
Offering the same high-performance optical design as other lenses in the Art line, the new E-mount models will feature a newly developed control algorithm that optimizes the autofocus drive and maximizes the data transmission speed. In addition, these lenses will be compatible with Sony's Continuous AF (AF-C) and high-speed autofocus, which are not addressed by MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 and reach the high standards demanded by photographers with an artistic, creative inclination.
This page will introduce photographers throughout the world and their works photographed with the E mount Art lenses.
SIGMA has a rich lineup of Sony E-mount lenses and accessories optimized for mirrorless systems.

This photo was taken during "While She Sleeps" set at Meet Factory club in Prague, Czech Republic. 14mm is my favorite focusing distance allowing me to be right in a ground zero of spectacle. SIGMA 14mm F1.8 DG HSM | Art for Sony E-mount is unbelievably bright and sharp, autofocus is fast and accurate even in continuous mode. So far I just concentrate on the composition in viewfinder being confident the lens will bring perfect images.

A wide angle lens like the SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art isn't an obvious choice for portraits but for me it's perfect. I like to get close to my subjects so you get a real sense of emotion or feeling whilst still keeping their environment in the frame to add to the story and this lens fulfils all my requirements wonderfully.

IMPRESSION
When it comes to urban photography and shooting portraits in the streets, I like to show as much of the surrounding architecture and movement as possible. This however comes with some challenges. To start with, I don't want everything to be sharp and that's often the biggest hurdle with wide angle lenses, since the depth of field gets very deep very quickly, leaving very little bokeh to separate subject from foreground and background. With the SIGMA 24mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art, I was able to get that wide angle of view that really shows off the subject's surroundings, while shortening that depth of field enough to render the background and foreground out of focus, like I wanted. And since it's an Art lens, as with all the other Art lenses I've tried and owned, it's incredibly sharp even wide open at f1.4, so while the foreground and background lost focus, my subject never did. The autofocus of this lens was fast and accurate, in both photo and video modes shooting on the Sony a7 III. This allowed me to reliably use this lens for vlogging, even in the low evening light.

Not emphasizing the perspective too much like 24mm, and with a wider angle of view than 35mm, the 28mm has an attractive angle of view. The F-number F1.4, which is the highest level of brightness in this class, and the possibility to create an image with background bokeh even though it is a wide angle lens, is interesting. The moderate wideness and natural bokeh brings a unique a feeling of solidity to the model. The top performance to the edges of the image and the possibility to make bold framing from the open aperture is the fun and attractive part of this lens.

The combination of the large aperture Art lens, which provides excellent imaging performance, and the SONY α7R III, which combines high gradation and high resolution, is a very exciting system that enables a new expression of the starry sky. I used to utilize the Mount Converter MC-11, but now with the rich lineup of the Sony E-mount, the Art lenses provide a furthermore stable performance. The image quality, which is excellent from full aperture surly expresses the world of once-in-a-lifetime meetings.

I purchased the SIGMA 35mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art for Nikon when it first became available in 2013. It has been a workhorse lens for me ever since, whether it be on adventures, weddings, or commercial projects. As I began to mix photo and video, I shifted towards the Sony mirrorless platform. The ability to continue using a lens I know and love for high megapixel stills or 4K video, now with a native mount construction, has been a fantastic experience.

In beautiful light, lens of any manufactures can be reflected clearly. However, under such cloudy weather, a difference appears distinctively in the lens performance. This is a photograph of an old man who I met on Ubea island in New Caledonia. I was amazed by the depiction of the ocean in his narrowed eyes, the shadow of his wrinkles, and the texture of skin as if you were touching them with your hands. The angle of view that is neither 35mm nor 50mm is actually perfect for me. It is possible to correspond to a wide variety of subjects such as snaps, landscapes, people, still lifes, and even in situations where you cannot seek for a beautiful light. You can make artistic photos by cutting bold compositions. This really is a reliable lens for me.

This picture was taken on one of the cloudy autumn days in my city. I chose a dark background to get good volume and contrast. Fortunately, the soft light was perfect combined with green grass on the background. Sunlight can dissipate in clouds and create soft texture on the model's skin. Colors clean themselves. I used Sony a7R II and 50mm lens. This focal length is one of my favorites in street portraits. I should say that I love SIGMA Art lenses. Perfect technical characteristics and hidden magic can transform your pictures to pure «Art». Find a good light, model, point of view and just push the shutter button. SIGMA 50mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art will do the rest!

This is Sophie at the end of our shooting day. The idea was to take a few
pictures with the hedge to get some depth into the picture. The weather was
excellent (low sun) and I asked Sophie to "integrate" into the hedge in order to
amplify the effect and make it more harmonious. A gust of wind then made sure
that the hair in Sophie's face blew and I shot the photo...
Being a passionate portrait photographer, I want to capture emotions. Emotions are spontaneous and within fractions of a second, the moment, this one moment that, when looking at the picture, makes tears spring to your eyes ... this moment is gone if your equipment isn't working perfectly and isn't very well tuned. That's why I chose the combination of Sony a7 III and SIGMA 85mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art. In combination with the lens, the strength of the focus system clearly comes into effect here because together, they manage to capture this very fraction of a second. The picture happens, you focus, and the lens focuses where it should focus. You won't lose a moment anymore. Your results will be much more satisfying and your scrap will be reduced to a minimum. In addition, the wonderfully soft bokeh opens up completely new dimensions in isolating persons from the background. This further enhances the emotions and the viewers focus on the picture, on the situation, making the picture unique...

Dusk is an excellent time for photographers because of the scene changes from
moment to moment. This was shot in Hokkaido, Japan.
The lens is my favorite 105mm and the aperture setting is wide open, which is also my favorite. SIGMA 105mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art is great since the aperture can be wide open to F1.4 which makes an 3D impression to the model and the background. Since there is a sunset in the background, the model will be a black silhouette without using illumination. Here I use an electronic flash with a softbox one from the right and one from the back of the model to separate the model from the background. The back light used behind the model made a beautiful spatial effect to the dress.

To immortalize this scenery I had been thinking of for a long time, I needed a tele lens to compress the perspective. The SIGMA 135mm F1.8 DG HSM | Art gives this 3D effect to the picture and reveals every detail. Despite the hard backlight conditions, chromatic aberrations are nonexistent and the flare is moderate. The 9 aperture blades give this gorgeous star effect. With the face detection and eye AF of the a7R III, the focus with this kind of fast lens is a piece of cake, a great combination!
