Photography has been an integral part of my life since I was very young. I'd say this deep-seated passion has given me a real opportunity for self-discovery.
Lately, I’ve been working more and more with people not used to being pictured, and it's a source of immense satisfaction for me to be able to help people who don’t feel especially comfortable with themself. It also allows me to strengthen my own self-confidence.
Every interaction with my subjects enriches me as an individual and gives me a better understanding of the complexity of the human condition. At the beginning of my photographic career, I could never have imagined that this former hobby would lead me to such a feeling.
I'm convinced that communication before a photo shoot is essential, as it lays the foundations for mutual trust, even if it is done remotely. I explain to my clients that my aim is to offer them much more than just an image, helping them in their relationship with their own self-image.
That's why I stay focused on the idea of capturing authenticity.

The SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II | Art led me to plunge into a new adventure: street photography. It's a field I've rarely explored, but one that has always intrigued me, because it offers photographers an opportunity to immortalize memories in their very own way and understand where they live.
To me, awareness is essential in such a busy environment, where every moment is filled with spontaneous exchange, expression and emotion. The street is a place we are all living on a daily basis, but one we don't always take the time to observe. Photography offers us the time and opportunity to take an authentic look at this environment that unites us and takes place in the choreography.

For years, I've been a huge fan of prime lenses, because this is what I grew up with as a photographer—thanks to my trusty SIGMA 35mm F1.4 DG DN | Art. Primes are easy, unobtrusive and they offer the best quality one would expect. The idea of using a zoom lens for photography has never really crossed my mind. However, I already worked with the SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG OS HSM | Art for commissioned work where it was required, and I enjoyed it. So, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and explore new territories by trying out this new lens.
The first thing that immediately appealed to me was its usability, especially its weight and compactness. This is a real relief for a photographer, especially at the end of a very long day, walking on the streets… or working on commissioned shoots. It fulfills its mission as a zoom lens, being useful, while still being practical and "fantastique".

It was a genuine pleasure to be able to walk in the streets of Paris without thinking twice. Focusing on my environment, keeping eyes and ears wide open and being able to capture life in a flash, knowing my gear was up to the task. As opportunities on the streets can be fleeting, it’s often hit or miss.
To shoot portraits on the streets, especially at the market, I needed to use the zoom at its farthest and I immediately fell in love with what I saw on the screen. It was so satisfying to get such a sharp, precise picture, approaching the quality I’m expecting and used to with my primes, which is the reason I use them.

Another key point that was a major revelation to me was how close to the subject I could be with this lens. That is a real change for me. Beyond the maximum zoom, this feature extends the versatility offered by this type of lens. I was able to make full use of its capabilities to get up close to the elements I was photographing, such as fruit and vegetables in the market, where I was able to appreciate the precision and sharpness of the rendering even at a distance of 17cm from the subject.
Being able to get so close to the subject almost gives me a macro-like experience, which is quite impressive.

Eventually, this new experience was a big breath of fresh air, shaking me out of my convictions and helping me to live in the moment. Beyond photography, this experience offered me a profound human dimension that strengthened my inspiration.
Despite the years of experience I've accumulated, this new lens allows me to consider new projects, new ways of seeing, and new ways of shooting in which I would use this lens creatively.
