I am keen on things
that are pure but powerful.

I usually use a lot of photography equipment, such as Leica, SIGMA, Fujifilm, Hasselblad, and Canon. But I am a loyal user of Leica. From playing with Leica film to later using a Leica digital camera, I really like it's retro color feel.

My current job is a commercial photographer and a cross-disciplinary visual artist. I think commercial photography as a chance for growth, which is a good exercise as well. Many photographers may not like business, but I see it in a different way. It not only requires you to continuously improve in skills, but also to cultivate your comprehensive abilities, for the overall communication during shooting, for market considerations, and so on. In this process, you continue to improve all aspects of yourself. You are able to have a greater freedom to create the style you love while making a living with it. I think business and artistic creation need to find a good balance on their own, which is very important. My definition of myself is that as a photographer, I can improve my skills at work, make better works, and stick to the parts I like and want to create.

My dad is very keen on taking pictures, so when I was young, he often used his film camera to take pictures. Later, I studied art and design in college where we had a special photography course. At that time, I started to learn how to use a digital camera. Later, after graduating from university, I tried various types of jobs that I thought I liked. I worked as a reporter in the media, worked as a designer in a design company, designed clothes for a fashion brand company, and then I was an illustrator in a game company. However, no matter what I did, photography was the only thing that stayed with me. Thus, when I decided to be independent, I became a photographer and started my own photography studio. When I was still doing art design in a game company, I designed a poster for a well-known domestic TV series, by chance. The client was very satisfied with my work and wanted me to be in charge of the design of the subsequent posters for the series. My friend told that client that I would switch to photography, so the client designated me to take care of the photography as well, and that's it: that's how I came to create posters of film, television dramas and photography of artists. For me, either design or photography, creative ideas and aesthetics are always the core, they just drive the final visual expression through different ways of presentation.
